Today's business visit was to Resilient Premier Cleaning LLC in Lincoln. Students talked with owner Deiy Shuff - Chignard about her entrepreneurial journey. It all started when she was 12 years old, working odd jobs to earn money to go to a competition. (Her slogan? "Whatever you ask, I'm up for the task!")

After finishing college, she was working nights at a job she loved, but when things shifted, she was ready for a change. A friend mentioned that she could make cleaning a full-time job. She started by doing cleaning jobs during the day and continuing her 3rd shift job, eventually leaving that position to start building Resilient Premier Cleaning into the business it is today. It grew into a family business in 2013, and in 2017 she moved to her current commercial location. Deiy now manages 12-15 people cleaning residential and commercial properties within a 40 mile radius.

The conversation ranged over many topics including marketing, customer service, managing employees, and how to manage your business finances. She offered a lot of practical advice to our entrepreneurs.

About trying something new: "If you're nervous, so what? Go nervous."
About learning: "I want to be the dumbest person in the room. I want to be surrounded by people I can learn from."
About marketing: "Don't say 'I tried everything, but it didn't work.' Change something!"
About customer service: "Do what you say you're going to do. And always over deliver."

Great advice! Thank you for hosting CEO and sharing your story with us today!
