About Me
Never in just one week did I think and feel like I’ve changed so much. My name is Hayley Matson, and I am a current Land of Lincoln CEO student. I am a senior at Hartsburg-Emden High School, and I cannot express how excited I am for this year! I serve as Vice President for my graduating high school class as well as the National Senior Division Beta Club Vice President at my high school. I love talking with people, being involved, and taking every opportunity that I can. I consider myself to be unbelievably blessed to be a part of the Land of Lincoln CEO family. I’m very excited to see where the year will take all of us here, and how far we all will go! To all the investors, mentors, and everyone who has pushed me to join CEO, thank you for everything you do for us!
About My Business
My Featured Journal Entries
My experience within the CEO Tradeshow was one to remember. Watching everyone put together their booths in the morning to come back in the evening and watch the Tradeshow come to life was amazing. At first, I was very nervous, but after I got used to people filing through the line I became more comfortable. It’s hard to believe that CEO is over now. I’m very thankful for all of my experiences within the CEO Program, and will continue to take forward with me the knowledge and tools I have gained throughout the year. I would like to thank all of our sponsors, investors, mentors, the Tradeshow Committee and the CEO Board for everything they do. Also, thank you to Jason for being the best facilitator we could ask for. This program is amazing, and I hope nothing but success as CEO continues to grow here in Logan County.

Monday we kicked the week off with an interesting team building activity known as the human knot. Through the process, we had great communication, and we fought through an uncomfortable situation. Austin did a great job of taking over and leading us within the process. It was a relief to find the final step that completed the task! A few months ago, none of us would have been comfortable within that situation, but now that we have grown as a team, these challenges have become normal to us and we can work together better than before.

Wednesday, we met Kim Johnson and other Ardagh team members in Lincoln and took an awesome tour of Ardagh! Ardagh is a very successful and impressive glass company. The way they operate their business is very strategic, rhythmatic and impressive. I was blown away at how system-oriented the business is. Everything has to be precise, and if one thing goes wrong, everything else does as well! Lincoln is the number one plant out of all sixteen, and that comes as no surprise seeing how well they keep their workers motivated and driven!

Tuesday, we made a cold walk across the road to ME Reality, meeting with Seth Goodman who is also the mayor of Lincoln! During his presentation, I learned that being successful on your own is possible. Also, I learned that anything is possible. Seth gave us a lot about himself, but it was all inspiring information.

“The world judges you.” That was a quote from Mike Meador that stuck with me. No matter what, the world is going to judge you. So keep going. Push yourself to do what others may doubt.

Friday was a normal work day as usual. I’m very proud of the newsletters we write! From
our teasers, titles and even the different sections we write very well as a team and we always
put together something wonderful. This excites me in terms of the group business, because I
know we can do something amazing and unforgettable!
