I’m going to start by saying that the trade show was nothing like I thought it was going to be. It was so much more than I thought it could be. If I could describe the Trade show in one word it would be “opportunity”. It’s hard to explain the sheer amount of opportunity that the trade show brought, and this can only be attributed to the fantastic people who put on, and came to, the event. I would like to thank our investors, who allow us to do this. Without them, or everybody else who makes CEO possible, we never would have made it this far. It’s hard to describe just how much this program has allowed me to change, and it couldn’t have been possible without the help of so many amazing people.

For the remainder of the week, we focused heavily on group business activities. Dave Moravec came to visit and discuss group business details. He talked to us about the aspects of payment, and how we should handle the incoming money from participating teams.

Monday morning, everybody’s ready for another week. Today we are met with the wonderful Michael Turner, a commercial lender at State Bank of Lincoln. He talked to us about business plans and the types of things to include in one. He started asking about our ideas for businesses and started listing the possible expenses that come with them. Personally, I didn’t think of almost half of the things he brought up.

Wednesday, we went to Keystone Risk Management. They talked to us about differentiating yourself from competition along with balancing work and family life. I really enjoyed the idea of working at home. I think it would help you stay involved with your family and run your own business at the same time. One thing Clyde talked about that many other speakers have is sacrifice. When they talk about starting their business, they always talk about something they had to give up for a time.

Tuesday we went to Edward Jones, which is run by Christine Short. She spoke to
us about her experiences and her life leading up to her business. One of the things I
thought was really helpful was learning that this wasn’t her first pursuit in her career.
She originally worked as a teacher but later in life went to work with Edward Jones. It
really just puts everything in perspective. It doesn’t matter what age you are, all that
matters is your pursuit of your dream.
