What a "sweet" business visit to Missy’s Sweet Shoppe at the Palms Grill Cafe in Atlanta! Students had a "hands on" kind of morning when they got to decorate cookies while owner Missy Gaither talked about her journey as an entrepreneur.

Missy's Sweet Shoppe started as a hobby, but soon grew into something more. April 1st will mark 2 years in her current location at the Palms Grill Cafe in Atlanta. Missy says she is seasonally busy, and making something special for weddings is one of her favorite things to do. She loves it when customers want to try something different!

As far as competition is concerned, she is very community minded. If a client requests something that she doesn't do, she is happy to refer them to someone else who can provide what they need.

“Support local as much as you can and they will support you” she said. One example: Missy purchased her ovens through McEntire Appliance in Lincoln. Additionally, she likes to advertise other small businesses in town including restaurants, gyms, coffee, boutiques, etc.
