Today's business visit was to the Lincoln Heritage Museum. People don't often think of museums as a business, but Director Ron Keller explained "the museum is an economic driver in our community." The museum hosts over 3000 visitors each year, half of whom hail from a foreign country. While they are here, they stimulate our local economy when they eat, shop, refuel, and stay in hotels.

Mr. Keller talked with students about the rewards and challenges of operating the museum, the purpose of seeking its 501(c)(3) designation, and conducted a museum marketing exercise. At the end of the visit, he presented each student with a copy of "Abraham Lincoln in Logan County, Illinois 1834-1860" and a framed Lincoln quote:

"Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any other." ~ Abraham Lincoln.

Despite the closure of Lincoln College, Lincoln Heritage Museum remains open for normal operating hours (Tuesday-Friday 9 am to 4 pm and Saturday 1 pm to 4 pm). Visit the website to learn more about what this hidden gem in our community has to offer! https://museum.lincolncollege.edu/

Thank you, Mr. Keller, for hosting the CEO class today!
