The CEO team met with David White, owner of Advanced Heating & Cooling in Lincoln, IL. A former union operator, he opened his HVAC business in June 2021. Besides the challenge of COVID at that time, he experienced a theft within the first month of moving in to his current location. While it was frustrating, he persevered and continued to build his business.

He says he sets himself apart from the competition with his customer service and transparent pricing - he charges the same rate for every call - whether it's residential or commercial, daytime or the middle of the night. "I don't believe it's right to charge people extra and profit from others' misfortune."

Every day looks different. "It's never the same thing. I love the challenge," David says. But there is one constant - he is always busy!

David invites his staff to job shadow with him before they enter into a working agreement. His shared his tips for job shadowing (no matter the industry):
