CEO: Teaching Opportunities

CEO Guest Speakers

Mentor Breakfast ALMH

The students were introduced to their mentors at a breakfast Thursday morning at ALMH. They spent time getting to know the mentors as well as mingling with others. The last thirty minutes were spent doing a team exercise where students and mentors were able to make connections in a unique way. The breakfast was a great networking opportunity as well as an opportunity to get to know business leaders in the community.

Student Recruitment at Area Schools

The CEO team has been recruiting at area schools for next years class.  Students at the local high schools showed interest asking multiple questions about the opportunities provided by the program. Overall, it was a good opportunity for the students to really show their peers how the program has changed them, how it could benefit them, as well as further tying them to their community.

Team Building

This week the CEO class did a couple of interactive team building activities to get the day going. The team had to get out of the human knot as well as a few other unorthodox team building exercises. Everyone had to use good communication, team work, and have patience to succeed.

Sales Manager

Dave Moravec

CEO had the pleasure to sit down with Dave Moravec, sales manager at Integrity Data, who discussed the financial aspect to the group business. He was an expert at breaking everything down for the class and had CEO evaluate the small details that were missing in order to make this business something truly special. Overall, Dave provided them with knowledge on how to evaluate every detail.

Student Journal Highlights for this week

We began the week with a team building exercise that focused on our teamwork and communication skills.  I feel that with our various leadership and brainstorming capabilities, we work very well as a team. Between the 10 of us, we seem to have a very proportional variety of traits that allow us to complete any task efficiently.

For the remainder of the week, we focused heavily on group business activities.  Dave Moravec came to visit and discuss group business details. He talked to us about the aspects of payment, and how we should handle the incoming money from participating teams.

Monday we kicked the week off with an interesting team building activity known as the human knot.  Through the process, we had great communication, and we fought through an uncomfortable situation. Austin did a great job of taking over and leading us within the process. It was a relief to find the final step that completed the task! A few months ago, none of us would have been comfortable within that situation, but now that we have grown as a team, these challenges have become normal to us and we can work together better than before.

Get Involved in CEO

The manner in which the CEO program is funded is critical to its success and sustainability. All funds raised are used exclusively for the Land of Lincoln CEO program. To participate, a 3-year $1000 per year commitment is required. Business Partner Investors commitments of time and energy are also critical to the program's success. Contributions may be tax deductible, as our organization is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization.

When we are not touring local businesses, we need a place to host the class. During that time, the 10 CEO students and their Facilitator would meet at your site where they would also have guest speakers and guests from the community attend. Hosting requires a facility with internet access and adequately accommodates up to 15 people.

We are looking for people to share real-life stories about the concepts of running a business, from strategic thinking, product development to marketing, and cash flow management. Also, sharing your personal successes and failures are what recent classes have enjoyed the most.

If you are interested in participating in any of the above programs, use our contact form to send us a message
